Guess the course (CE Edition)

Was this…

A) the salad 🥗

B) the dessert 🍧

C) leftover tinned tomato that accidentally made its way on to a tray in BA kitchens & given to a passenger? 🍅🥫📥✈️

Had a spoon and a half of it this evening
GLA->LHR. Sun streaming in made it look more like strawberry. Not a rhubarb fan!

me neither, I wished it was strawberry it would have acted as some good lube for the dry chicken.

(this isn’t a dig at the CE meals, I know what I’m getting myself in for… it was just when that arrived I was certain I’ve got something so similar looking in my fridge leftover from the tikka masala I recently made 😅 )

That doesn’t look like natural rhubarb – one suspects the addition of colouring?

It's delicious but the presentation isn't the best.

I don’t mind rhubarb, but the rodent element of the dish is somewhat concerning.

Rhubarb is poisonous to mice which might explain why it was there.

Must admit I'd never even have guessed it was rhubarb.Would love to taste it though.

As soon as you have some of this you know it's rhubarb since the distinctive strand structure of the vegetable is clearly visible once you taken a spoon to it, with the vanilla mousse taking up the lower half of the dish (so it's actually Rhubarb Entremet). It's not a strong taste though, it probably would taste better if allowed to warm up a bit, or even a lot, given it comes out chilled.

Yes, a longstanding feature of Club Europe catering, it matches in with similar designed covers for the trolley. It's actually quite a clever bit of non-slip material, which is certainly helpful given the lack of perpendicularity of some CE tables.
